The last 3 entries on our blog have been added by the children in Room 5.

They have been learning how to import pictures from our picture files and add text to the blog.

They are very enthusiastic and becoming much more capable at doing this.

We made white snowflakes and we wrote about what we like about Winter.

I like Winter because I play snow balls and it is really fun and we build snowmen too.

We put a carrot for the nose and we build another snow girl. They look really cool together.

I like throwing white snow balls at my brother. I like making snow men.

Week 2

We have been learning how to write a letter.

We wrote to Granny Ang in Ranfurly.

Granny Ang wrote back to us!

Week 6- Fun with Basic facts

In Room 5 we are learning to be really whizzy at our basic facts.

On Friday we played lots of games to help improve our basic facts.

We are getting to be Maths Marvels!!!!

Monster fun

We had lots of fun making wobbly monsters.

We used straws and paint and had to blow very hard!!

Week 4

This week we read a book called "The Monsters' Party."

At the end of the story a little monster jumped into jelly.

We made some jelly.

But we didn't jump into it!!!!!

We are Smarty Pants!!!!

This week we read a story about Smarty Pants.

We are all Smarty Pants in Room 5.

We wrote down the things that we have learnt to do this week.

Week 1 Term 2

This term we are learning how to be great communicators.

This week we made Lazy duck head bands. We all practised using clear voices to speak like lazy Duck.

Peer tutoring

On Fridays we are going to read with the Room 6 children.

They have been learning how to be reading tutors.

This is a great time for us to practise our reading and show off some of the new skills we have learnt through the week.

St Joseph's Day

We had great fun on St. Joseph's Day.

Here we are dressed in our house colours.

Bubbles, bubbles , bubbles

On Friday we had fun with bubbles.

"We blew bubbles and the bubbles grew bigger!"

Week 6

Maths time in Room 5

We are learning to add 1 and subtract 1 from a group of objects.

We are also learning about symmetrical patterns,

We were very excited this week to see our butterfly hatch.

We took it outside and watched it fly away.

We are awaiting the arrival of our butterfly, and we are carefully watching our caterpillar grow larger each day.

Maths

This week we are learning to recognise the numbers that come before and after to 20.

Each morning the computers are on in the classroom and will be on a game that will help us with this.
